Unfortunately the owners of the radio station that I have been a part of for 20 years have severe financial issues and are going to sell the station. Non-commercial stations are not as valuable as commercial stations, but they believe this is the only way they can survive.
Here is an article that appeared in the Washington Times this past week. - http://www.washingtontimes.com/article/20070718/BUSINESS/107180017/1006
So it appears a career change is heading my way, never figured on that happening, but there you go…

Well is was only a week, but it felt like an eternity. She had kept going in this one person’s backyard who had cat food out for her cats. We convinced the person to let us set the live trap and put the cat food in the trap. It was set on Friday evening, and in the morning, bam there she was in the live trap!! She is well, skinny and dirty but well. Thanks to everyone looking, and especially the town of Mount Airy who seemed to pull the stops out on finding this poor girl.

UPDATE SHE HAS BEEN FOUND AND IS BACK AT HER FOSTER HOME
Jessie is a Mid-Atlantic German Shepherd Rescue dog lost in Mount Airy, MD. She was last seen near Shirley Bohn Road and Buffalo Road. She is truly a rescue dog, very scared. Do not try and catch her, she will run. Her foster parents and temporary foster parents are very worried about this girl.

Our dearest Maggie went to the Rainbow Bridge last week. It looked like she contracted pneumonia, but when the anti-biotics did not work, and she got worse on Sunday. We realized she probably had cancer that had moved to her lungs. I don’t know what it is about January, but we lost little Angel in January of 2001. I am beginning to think that January is just not a good month for us.
We got Maggie when she was 12 weeks old, and Dawn and I had just gotten married. She was 12 when we made that difficult decision to let her go. It was good to see her peaceful for the last few moments of her life. The previous 4 days she had such trouble breathing, even with the chest percussions and being surrounded by Vicks Vaporizers.
Maggie had lots of spunk until she got sick. She would still chase the other dogs and loved her two toys – her Frisbee that our Angel taught her to play, and her purple ball that ALL the dogs even the fosters knew better then to take from her.
We miss her, and the house is quiet. Rosie has been a God send as she has kept PD’s mind off of Maggie, and she snuggles with me.

A lot has happened since I posted, Brian and Rentz were adopted, and we have had several other fosters. One was Rosie:
The problem was she was so cute we adopted her in October! She is fitting in quite nice, and she is a Daddy’s little girl. So now I have claimed two of the dogs!

Our new fosters are Brian and Rentz are brothers who were turned into the shelter together. Both are super sweet, goofy boys who love getting and giving attention. They both came to us in vary bad shape. Malnurished, saying they were skin and bones would be kind. They were just a skeleton. I’ll post more about each next.

Spent yesterday sick to my stomach, it was very wierd. Our neighbors surprised us early this year with their annual fireworks show on the 1st instead of the 3rd or 4th. The dogs had no problem, though Sara barked at the first couple of pops. It was very pretty to watch. Sue’s horses were not happy about it though. As Dawn says it lasts longer then the DC fireworks and is prettier. I am not sure if they hire someone, but it is cool to sit in your backyard and get a full fireworks show.

Sara might just be going to her forever home this next week. Things are looking good for her from the couple that met her a few weeks ago at the Walk and Wag in Frederick. She really liked them, and they spent over an hour with her. I hope they pass the homevisit and application process and choose Sara, though Dawn will be crying when she leaves…

Well we finally said goodbye to the kitchen – it is torn out, and should be back by July 10! More pictures wil follow of the demolition!
