Traveling

Self Portrait at 3am

What a day, it began at 2:45am. Andy was a bit upset at being left at home, but we left, got the airport on time, and made our flight. The flight from Dallas to Houston was delayed a bit. Ironically by fog because it left from Dulles (we left from BWI). Once in Houston we had to wait about an hour for our bus that drove us to Galveston. Celebrity really needs to work on that end of things. Their staff was clueless about organization, and one of the people was downright rude to everyone, and she was the one at their desk getting people to the buses. She actually shooed people away because they were to close to her – a customer service class for her would be helpful. Finally we got called out to our bus, where the Assistant manager (who obviously had a bit of training) apologized and got us on our way.

The Packing

Cruise ShipI’ll post some pictures of the packing soon, but what a day trying to get ready to leave for the slow boat to Panama. The dogs and cat got reintroduced to Kathy the stay at home petsitter. She was glad Thunder got adopted, one less dog to take out and feed :) Time to go to bed, we have to get up at 3am to catch our 6am flight!

Thunder ADOPTED!!

Thunder was adopted today. He went to a nice family with a Border Collie, a GSD, some cats, and a sweet 3 year old girl. He especially likes his new Dad. It is funny that he isn’t a noisy dog, but the house is so quiet tonight. I’m glad he is in a new home, but it is a little bit sad today.

Our Fosters

MAGSR LOGO Since October 2003 we have been fostering dogs for the Mid-Atlantic German Shepherd Rescue. We started with Jingles, who I think looks like Thunder. Now I know they don’t all look like shepherds, but MAGSR takes mixes in as well which is why we like to work with them. Orion had serious seperation anxiety and needed special care, we had him less then 24 hours. Jenna really wasn’t our foster, we picked her up to foster, but her new mom decided to pick her up an hour after we took her in custody. MurphyLee went to another foster home because he could not leave Leo the cat alone. Currently we have Sara and Thunder.
